Things Jesus Never Said #1

Yes, Jesus never said this. The Gospel of Matthew does record Jesus saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)

The lackadaisical response of Christians today appalls me. Christians are too comfortable and Satan has them just where he wants them; in a church, being comfortable, doing nothing. Remember, Jesus did not call us to do nothing. He called us to be bold. He called us to be courageous. He called us to spread the Gospel.

  1. Matthew 6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
